NATIONAL DRESS UP YOUR PET DAY
National Dress Up Your Pet Day on January 14th was founded by the Celebrity Pet Lifestyle Expert and Animal Behaviorist, Colleen Paige. This holiday provides a special day to celebrate with your pet and show off their unique fashion sense. Pets are a part of the family and they deserve to be celebrated!
Whether you take a visit to the local groomer or go all out and dress up in matching outfits, just make sure your loved one is safe and comfortable.
Tips to keep your pets safe and comfortable in the pet clothing and costumes that you choose:
- If your pet just doesn’t like dressing up, let them sit this holiday out. We want them to enjoy the day. Try wearing a custom T-SHIRT or Socks with your pet on them
- Be sure it isn’t too tight. Restricting movement or ability to breathe can cause injury or illness. Nothing tight around the neck or the body!
- Many pets like to chew. Avoid loose or dangling pieces which can cause choking hazards.
HOW TO OBSERVE #NationalDressUpYourPetDay
The name of the day tells you how to celebrate it; dress your pets up! Make sure comfort and safety is your first priority.
A visit to the groomer for a bit of animal safe nail polish, a bath, and a haircut always improves our pet companion’s appearance. Get a cute bandana, bow, or collar to show off your pets style. Be sure to share pictures with us. We love to see how you #CelebrateEveryDay. Use #DressUpYourPetDay to post on social media.
